Dear Participants and guests of the 2nd Navigators Cup,

It is a great pleasure for me, to welcome all of you, also on behalf of my team Navigators, to the 2nd Navigators Cup in Limassol – Cyprus.
Bowling is not just a hobby, a recreational activity for several thousand players in Cyprus, but it is also a real sport.  It merits its official recognition as ‘‘high sport level’’ as it requires precision, focus and skill.
It is not widely known, but Ten-pin bowling in Cyprus has more than 1000 regular serious players, members of the eight bowling associations.
The 2nd Navigators Cup, organized from 28th to 30th of January 2011 at Galactica Bowling Centre in Limassol by the team Navigators, illustrates not only the dynamism of the organizers but also their determination to raise the level of bowlers to compete with some of the bowling elite represented by 8 teams.  They will all do their best to find their way to victory and will share unforgettable and emotional moments with a public looking for sporting performances but also for friendship and fraternity.
Moreover, this great event will contribute indubitably to a better visibility of bowling in Cyprus and also to its further development as a popular sport.  It demonstrates that in Cyprus there is willingness and capacity to organize high-level competitions under the best conditions.
I am sure that all the stuff and volunteers involved in organizing this event will be worthy representatives of the team Navigators and demonstrate the welcome and professionalism that we expect when hosting an international sport event.

I wish the best of luck to all the participants, players, officials and most important the spectators and fans, whether from Cyprus or other countries.  Have a pleasant stay in Limassol.  Play the game, good luck, enjoy the competition, but above all, show Europe and the rest of the world that bowling is a true, clean, honest and challenging sport.
